Iyengar Yoga Teachers are required to attend classes with a Senior Iyengar Teacher for at least 3 years before commencing teacher training. A further 500 hours of face to face study is required before undergoing a rigorous assessment process to be certified at the minimum teaching level. Once certified Iyengar Yoga teachers remain committed to their practice, ongoing training and professional development and are continually assessed in order to maintain or further their certification.

Penny Sykes

penny1Penny is a Junior Intermediate Level  I certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher who began her study of Iyengar Yoga in 1988.  Her early motivation was stiffness and backache and her timing coincided with Michel    Besnard starting the Noosa Yoga Centre. His dedication, positive attitude and sense of humour helped Penny through the initial phase of her journey.  Penny commenced Teacher Training with Peter Scott when he purchased Noosa Yoga Centre. She has studied in India with the Iyengar family at the Institute in Pune 4 times and has attended numerous international workshops run by the Iyengar family and other Senior Iyengar teachers.  Penny frequently attends workshops to keep her skills current and thanks Peter Scott (Australian Senior teacher) and Shirley Daventry-French (Canadian Senior Teacher) for their training, and dedication which have been her inspiration.

Jeff  Campbell

Jeff NYCJeff found Iyengar Yoga in 1999 while looking for ways to reduce stress levels and lower back pain from years of construction work. Even as a beginner he realised the physical benefits which would come from regular class participation but what surprised him most was the mental calm which gradually emerged as his practice continued. Jeff commenced Teacher Training in 2007 with Peter Scott and continues to regularly attend workshops and retreats with Senior teachers.


Di Campbell

di1Di commenced Iyengar Yoga in 1999 whilst still working as an aerobics instructor which she had taught and competed in for over 20 years. She found the quiet focus of the yoga mat completely opposed to the adrenaline of aerobics and began to question her previous health and fitness beliefs.  Gradually her yoga practice overcame the adrenaline junky as she found the quietness of her yoga practice provided a time for inward focus and reflection which had been missing from her busy life as a business owner and mother of 4.   Di began Teacher Training with Peter Scott in 2007 and regularly attends workshops with both Peter and Sue Scott and other Senior teachers.  Di has an energetic but caring approach to her teaching.


jef1Jeff Steel

Jeff is a vibrant and enthusiastic teacher who has been practicing and studying Iyengar Yoga since 1988. Jeff completed his teacher training with Peter Scott in 2003 and has furthered his practice in Pune, India with Sri B.K.S. Iyengar and Smt. Geeta Iyengar. Jeff’s teaching strength comes from his personal practice experiences and he is eager to share the empowering and fulfilling qualities of yoga in his classes.



su1Suzanne Tacey

Suzanne has been practicing Iyengar yoga for 15 years. She commenced Teacher Training with Peter Scott in 2007 and successfully completed her certification at the Introductory 2 level in 2012.  In 2009 Suzanne attended the Australian Convention led by Dr Geeta Iyengar and in 2010 travelled to India to study for a month at the RIMYI in Pune under the guidance of both Geeta and Prashant Iyengar.

Suzanne is continually grateful for the way Iyengar Yoga is changing her life.
